Summary: Why did Boromir insist on going to seek Imladris?

tolkien_weekly challenge on Astronomy. x-posted there. Yeah, fits the challenge only loosely, but it also illuminates a possible answer to a question

Late at night, the stars looked different; the constellations had traced their old paths. He usually didn’t see them thus, but he had woken early from a dream just like the one Faramir had dreamt, and so different from the nightmare images of defeat that filled his sleep of late. He stared out as the stars crept towards morning. If he could follow this dream, it would give him a worthy purpose other than fighting a losing battle. It would steal his despair and lead him through the darkness. Come morning, he would tell Denethor; he would go to Imladris.

I also like the idea of the dream bringing him hope on a personal level, not just as a grand vision and prophecy for Gondor. Well done!
